# Balances: deposits and withdrawals

> How to deposit tokens into your LightSwap account and withdraw them to an external wallet.

The **Tokens** tab in your account shows your balances. From there you can deposit and withdraw each token.

## Deposit to your account

1. Open the token and choose **Deposit**.
2. Pick the network. The account shows your deposit address for that network, plus a memo when the network needs one.
3. Send the transfer from your external wallet, on exactly that network.

The balance updates after the network confirms. That takes seconds to minutes on most networks.

  An account deposit and a swap deposit are different things. An account deposit tops up your balance. A swap deposit pays for one specific swap. Use the address for the job you're doing.

## Withdraw to an external wallet

1. Open the token and choose **Withdraw**.
2. Pick the network and paste the destination address. The form checks the address format before you can continue.
3. Enter the amount and confirm.

Minimums and any fees are shown in the form before you confirm. On networks that use memos, add the destination's memo when the form asks for it.

  Withdrawals can't be reversed once sent. Check the address and the network before you confirm.
