# Account overview

> What a LightSwap account adds on top of public swaps, and how to create one.

You never need an account to swap. An account is for people who want more than a single swap: balances, history, referrals, and yield.

## What an account adds

## Creating an account

1. Open [lightswap.me](https://lightswap.me) and choose **Sign in**.
2. Pick a sign-in method in the window that opens.
3. Done. Your account wallet is created automatically in the background.

It's free and takes about a minute. No KYC.
