# Make your first swap

> A step-by-step walkthrough of a LightSwap swap, from picking the pair to the payout in your wallet.

This walkthrough takes about two minutes. You need a wallet with the coins you want to swap and the address where you want to receive the new coins.

  <Step title="Choose assets">
    Open [lightswap.me](https://lightswap.me). In the swap form, pick the asset you send and the asset you receive, then enter the amount. You get a live quote: the rate and the amount you'll receive.

  <Step title="Enter address">
    Paste the address where you want to receive the coins. Make sure it matches the network shown next to it. If the form asks for a memo or destination tag, copy it exactly. Check everything carefully, because transfers can't be reversed.

  <Step title="Send deposit">
    The swap page shows the deposit address, the exact amount, the network, and the time window. Send the transfer from your wallet. The amount and the network must match the instructions exactly.

  <Step title="Track">
    The page updates on its own as your swap moves from deposit to payout. When it shows **Swap completed**, the coins are in your wallet.
